About Raghubir

“ I was one of those people who originally took the Teacher Training because I 'just wanted to deepen my practice', not because I wanted to teach.  Something happened inside of the practicum - the part of the training where you teach a yoga set to the group - that changed my life forever. I experienced the deep knowing that I was, had always been and would always be a Kundalini Yoga teacher.  I tell people that it felt like Cinderella slipping her foot into the glass slipper…and look at me now.”

Raghubir is a successful artist and educator who recently received her MFA in Public Practice from the Otis College of Art and Design. Her interest as a Dharma artist is to open conversations about the synergistic relationship between spirituality and art and using yogic technology, to uplift and transform community. She has been a serious practitioner and teacher of Kundalini Yoga since 2008 under the mentorship of her teacher, Harijiwan.

As a yoga teacher, Raghubir's passion is to accurately transmit the Teachings of Yogi Bhajan® with the intention of holding space for powerful healing and transformation.  A serious practitioner since 2004, as an administrator and participant in teacher trainings since 2008, and now as a KRI Certified Level One Lead Trainer, Raghubir is committed to bringing these teachings to the planet and helping to live Yogi Bhajan's mission "I have come to create teachers, not to gather disciples". For the last 11 years Raghubir has taught in Northeast LA as "Atwater Kundalini Yoga" and is thrilled to bring the Level One Teacher Training to her old stomping grounds. John Romero

"As a volunteer (seva) assistant I was able to observe the training classes and students from a more objective perspective and could not endorse and recommend the Raghubir Kaur Khalsa, and the course of instruction more highly. For anyone who would like to take their personal Kundalini yoga practice several levels higher and deeper, whether you intend to teach or not, this is the course to take.

The setting is intimate, the camaraderie grows as deep as family and the energy generated engenders incredible, deep emotional and spiritual expansion, transforming one in positive growth. "

Harcharanjot received his Kundalini Yoga Level One Certification in 2015 from Harijiwan in Santa Monica. He is also certified in the Hatha tradition, is a talented ceramicist and teaches Kundalini Yoga at Kinship Yoga in Highland Park.  He has been a long term member of our Heartbeat House family and an integral part of our Moon Sanctuary Level One Teacher Training team.

Rossana Perez

"I took Level One Teacher Training in 2014-2015 from Harijiwan and Tej and It was one of the best experiences in my life.  After graduating,  I attended the Summer Solstice at Guru Ram Das Puri in Española, New Mexico; after these two life-changing experiences, nothing in my life has been the same.

This past year, I did seva for the Level One Teacher Training with Raghubir in Atwater Village. Working with the students and other members of the training team was a deeply meaningful and unforgettable experience. I feel humbled and satisfied with the service I provided to the students, which is a service to humanity in the framework of things."

An academic and activist, she is currently working on her MFA in Creative Writing from Antioch University. Rossana works in the non-profit sector providing mental health services to those who have been exposed to either community or intra-family violence. She facilitates parenting education and teaches Kundalini yoga as part of the community health and wellness program.

Her selfless service in our trainings has been felt deeply by each and every student and trainer.
